Blood Pressure Monitoring
Home blood pressure monitoring is useful for monitoring cardiovascular disease management. Home blood pressure monitoring has the added advantage that this will be carried out in the comfort of your home, where you are likely to be less anxious than when visiting a clinic or hospital. Our trained nurses offer home blood pressure testing using their own blood pressure monitoring equipment. This equipment is calibrated on a regular and ongoing basis to ensure that the readings are as accurate as possible.
Catheter care
Catheters can be used on a short-term or long-term basis depending on your condition. Professional catheter care will reduce complications and hospital admissions. Our nurses are trained in catheter care and will provide you with the bespoke support that you require for your continence needs within the comfort of your own home whilst supporting your independence. They will assist with general catheter care including monitoring of fluid balance, cleaning and maintenance of the catheters, insertion and replacement of catheters, and they work closely with your healthcare team to closely monitor and review your medical needs.

Requiring injections for the short term or on an ongoing basis, and having to self-inject, can be a daunting experience. Healthmark is here to support you and administer your injections in the comfort of your own home. An injection must be done in a certain way, depending on its purpose including intramuscularly (into the muscle tissue) or subcutaneously (under the skin). Our nurses can provide support with the administration of insulin, injections for pain relief, injections to prevent blood clots, injections to assist with IVF and administration of the vaccinations including the influenza vaccine. Our nurses will also ensure the safe disposal of the injection and consumables used to always ensure you and your family’s safety.
Medication Administration
Taking the right medications that are prescribed by your doctor, at the right dosages and frequency is imperative for your safety and well-being. Healthmark is here to support you and take care of every aspect of your medication administration and schedule to ensure that you are taking your mediations safely, effectively and appropriately thus helping to prevent medication errors, encouraging medication adherence and improving patient safety. In addition to your oral medication, we can support you the administration of different types of medication including via an aerosol device or puffer, the administration of ear and eye drops, the topical administration of specific creams, patches or ointments, injections and also pessaries or suppositories.
Palliative Care
Palliative care is the specialised support aimed to offer the highest quality of life for patients with serious illness which may include dementia, heart failure and cancer. Receiving palliative care in the comfort of your own home allows you to stay in the place you feel most comfortable. Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy is the collection of blood by a trained professional and in a sterile manner. This is usually required for any laboratory tests that may have been prescribed for you by your doctor. Healthmark can assist you with your prescribed laboratory requests. Our dedicated nurses are trained in phlebotomy, and can help by coming directly to your home or office to take you blood quickly, conveniently and professionally whilst ensuring both quality and convenience. The blood samples are then delivered safely to the laboratory of your choice.
Specialised Feeding
Healthmark is here to support you with your specialised feeding requirements, including nasogastric feeding (through a tube in the nose) or PEG feeding (through a button or tube directly in your stomach or intestine). Our nurses can provide you with the specialised support so that you can continue enjoying an independent life in the comfort and safety of your own home. Our nurses can help you take care of your daily feeding requirements ensuring the correct amount and type of nutrition is provided. They can take care of your fluid (drink) intake through the feeding tube, administering medication as required through your tube, management of your tube including cleaning and flushing to prevent clogging and infection, and ensuring and keeping the skin around the tube clean and healthy to prevent complications as much as possible.
Stoma Care
A stoma is a surgical opening on the front of your abdomen. This allows the collection of urine or faces outside of your body. At Healthmark we understand that it can initially be quite daunting for a patient to manage their stoma. Healthmark can support you with your urostomy, ileostomy or colostomy care, supporting you to manage your continence with dignity and in the comfort of your own home. Our nurses are trained in stoma care and can offer the bespoke flexible and practical support that can be tailored for you. Our nurses will work with your healthcare team, and support with cleaning and changing your stoma bag, irrigation of the stoma, caring for your skin around your stoma, and other associated medical needs that you require.
Tracheostomy Services
A tracheostomy is used to bypass the oral-nasal route for breathing. It is an opening in the trachea or windpipe through the skin at the front of the neck. Sometimes a tracheostomy is used for the ventilation of patients at home. A small tracheostomy can also be a solution for patients who have difficulty coughing up mucus. The mucus can then be sucked out of the trachea through the opening with an aspirator. At Healthmark we understand the extra care needs that are required for patients to be able to manage their tracheostomy in the comfort of their own home, both in the short term and if the tracheostomy is permanent. Our nurses are trained specifically in tracheostomy care and can support you with inner tube cleaning and changing, dressing and necktie changes, suction and secretion management, and other maintenance and general care for your tracheostomy.
Wound Care
There are various categories of wounds. These include surgical and traumatic wounds, burns, diabetic wounds, diabetic foot including heel sores, pressure sores, post-operative wounds, lacerations and wounds due to vascular disorders. All wounds are different, and some do not heal easily. At Healthmark we deal with management of your wound care with the right skills and standards. Our nurses are trained to monitor and care for your wounds to promote healing as much as possible, whilst identifying the signs and symptoms of infections or potential serious complications. They will work closely with your own medical team so that you receive the best possible care in the comfort of your own home.
