  • Personal Care
  • Shopping

Personal Care

We Provide Assistance and Promote Independence

At all times our carers encourage the client to do as much for themselves as possible. Their goal is to provide assistance and promote independence.

By allowing and encouraging them to do what they can for themselves, the carer will encourage your loved one and help them gain confidence in tasks which they may be able to manage without help.

Our Care Assistants can assist clients with:

  • In and out of the bath, with appropriate aids as needed, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Assistance can be provided with washing and dressing as well as help with continence issues.
  • If the client has difficulty remembering to take their medication, our carers can remind them at the correct time.
  • Dealing with all situations including alerting the medical team or calling the emergency services as required.

Personal Care and Household Duties

All carers engaged by Healthmark are able to assist clients with personal care and household duties. However, sometimes a trained nurse would be more suitable for the clients needs.

A trained nurse in the home can take responsibility for tasks that a carer cannot, such as injections, wound care and administration of medicines. This can include PEG feeds, syringe drivers and stoma care.

Having a nurse at home can provide you with the added reassurance of a highly trained and responsible professional individual who will manage your care arrangements and liaise with other health professionals.

We can provide a quality nursing service, assisting clients with:

  • Post-op nursing care
Assisting with recovery and rehabilitation after an operation or an admission to hospital. In many cases an earlier discharge is possible from hospital if a trained nurse is arranged.
  • Respite or holiday cover
Providing short term cover when a family member is on holiday.
  • Elderly care
Assistance with the management of long term medical conditions.
  • End of life care
Support and peace of mind for clients who want to remain in their own homes.
All nurses are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
