Healthmark Partners with MMSA to Support the Next Generation of Medical Professionals
Healthmark has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Malta Medical Students’ Association
(MMSA), strengthening its commitment to investing in Malta’s future healthcare workforce and
supporting public health initiatives led by medical students.
Through this new partnership, Healthmark becomes one of MMSA’s key sponsors for the
2025–2026 term. The collaboration will support MMSA’s educational programmes, awareness
campaigns, and community outreach projects that empower medical students to grow as
healthcare leaders while serving the wider community.
Founded in 1951, MMSA is a non-governmental, non-political organisation representing medical
students in Malta. It works to enhance the education and training of future doctors through
academic events, clinical workshops, international exchanges, peer education sessions and public
health campaigns addressing key issues such as mental health, sexual education, and preventive
medicine.
Charlotte Sant Portanier, Chief Executive Officer at Healthmark, said: “Healthmark is built on the
belief that great healthcare starts with great people. By supporting MMSA, we are investing in the
next generation of doctors who will shape Malta’s health landscape for years to come. We admire
MMSA’s commitment to community health and its drive to combine learning with service.”
Keith Calleja, the President of MMSA welcomed the partnership, saying: “MMSA is proud to
collaborate with a leading healthcare organisation like Healthmark. This partnership allows us to
continue creating opportunities for medical students to learn, engage with the community, and
contribute to a healthier Malta.”
Healthmark’s support reflects its ongoing mission to enhance healthcare standards across Malta
through professional development, education, and compassionate care. The company continues to
champion initiatives that bridge the gap between medical education and real-world practice,
ensuring that future healthcare professionals are well-equipped to meet the needs of a growing
and ageing population.
