Free Health Checks In Valletta: Healthmark and MMSA Join Forces for World Diabetes Day
Find out your blood sugar and blood pressure levels, get personalised nutrition advice, and even have your foot health checked — all for free — during a special World Diabetes Day event happening this Sunday in Valletta.
The initiative, organised by the Malta Medical Students’ Association (MMSA) in collaboration with Healthmark, will transform Parliament Square into a community health hub between 10am and 4pm, offering walk-in screenings and consultations aimed at promoting early detection and prevention of diabetes.
Here’s what visitors can benefit from:
🩸 Free blood pressure and blood glucose testing (10am-4pm) throughout the day, led by MMSA medical students.
🦶 Free podiatry checks (10am–12pm) to assess circulation and foot health — key areas often affected by diabetes — led by Healthmark’s podiatrists.
🥗 Free dietetic consultations (2pm–4pm) to discuss healthy eating and lifestyle choices with a professional dietitian from Healthmark.
Diabetes can go undetected for years, which is why opportunities like this are so important. Healthmark wants to make it as easy as possible for people to check their health, learn more, and take small steps towards prevention.
Healthmark nurses will also be present throughout the day to provide guidance and information about Healthmark’s Care and Therapy At Home services, which include a range of multidisciplinary services provided in people’s homes, including: nursing, physiotherapy, audiology, podiatry, neuropsychology, speech and language therapy, midwifery, dietetics and more.
