What does domiciliary / home care mean?

Domiciliary / home care is a term commonly used to define the range of services put in place to support an individual in their own home. Domiciliary / home care can range from a 30 minute intervention daily or weekly, such as assistance with bathing, to a couple of hours per day and up to 24/7 home care.

Will we have the same care giver for each shift?

We strive for consistency with our clients. If a client has an ongoing and regular service, then we try our best to schedule the same nurse or care worker to ensure continuity of care as much as possible.

Do I have to provide any medications / treatment?

Any medications or consumables to be able to administer the care need to be provided by the client. The client also must provide a valid and legal prescription stating the intervention(s) needed and frequency of treatment. We can liaise with your personal doctor to help you meet these requirements.

What time will you visit?

We will contact you in advance and plan our visit/s.

What do I do if I am not happy with the service provided?

Who pays for domiciliary / home care?

Our services are against payment. During your conversation with our team, you will be informed about all the prices of each service, as well as the terms and conditions. However, you may be entitled to obtain the service for free through the Department of Active Ageing & Community Care). You may also be able to claim for your care through your private healthcare insurance particularly if you are recovering from a procedure and need temporary support. Make sure you claim all the benefits you are entitled to. Our team will be able to guide you accordingly.

Domiciliary / home care can be a cost-effective alternative to residential care, especially for a couple or for people who have domiciliary / home care on a visiting basis.
